In this type of work the combination of subject, form, colour, technique, dimensions, style etc. asked for by the client is so special and unique that it is simply impossible to find a matching already existing work of art and the only solution is to have it made "to order". The "made to order" projects are often about painting copies, adaptations or pastiches (respecting copyright-laws) but in many cases the creative conditions for the desired work of art are very open and unique and original realizations become possible as well.
