Eddie Van Hoef also executes 3 to 8 portrait-commissions a year. The artist prefers a very realistic approach and for that reason sometimes the portraits look as if they have been based on photographic material. However this is only an impression if one knows that most of the portraits have been made from life models sitting for the artist at home or in the studio. Because there is a different approach for every model the artist also uses a large variety of materials, techniques, styles and dimensions, making every portrait quite unique.
